In today’s society women are still not equally accepted in certain scenarios. For example when it comes to relationships, men and women have a designated role that they each have to play according to society. Typically, the man should pick the girl up from her house, take her out to dinner and pay for the meal as well. This glorifies the man and makes him into something much more than what he is and also adds to his personality. Usually after a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant, the atmosphere between two people becomes intense and sparks begin to emit from both sides. The big question that can make or break the night is usually thought of in both participants minds but never asked until further down the road. The question is how many partners has each person had before? Ironically, if both participants stated the same number it may or may not affect their character. However, if the female were to have a number larger than a male she is perceived as someone who is very loose and does not value her body. On the contrary, if a male were to have a number larger than a woman he is commended for his actions. This advertisement which is used to display a men’s hygienic company portrays a child introducing a nice, genuine girl to his parents. Reluctantly, after the girl and mother meet, the mother continues to shut the door but the son continues to introduce more and more girls. Society, would congratulate the male and acknowledge him for this but if the situation was reciprocated, society would judge and stereotype the woman in an extremely negative manner. Why is it okay for the male specimen to live a life of polyamory but it is completely wrong for a woman to commit the exact action? Why do we never witness women playing the role of a man in advertisements?
